Eric Decker caught an 6-yard touchdown pass in overtime to beat the New England Patriots on Sunday. In the process, he and Brandon Marshall set an NFL record for the most games with a touchdown catch by teammates in a season. Marshall caught two touchdown passes in regulation, giving the pair 24 total on the season.
Eric Decker game-winner vs. Patriots sets record for teammate touchdown receptions with Brandon Marshall
Marshall and Decker have been a potent combination this season and now they have an impressive record to prove it.

Decker and Marshall have both caught touchdowns in eight games this year after Sunday’s game, which eclipses the previous mark set by Pro Football Hall of Famer Cris Carter and Randy Moss. Those are two of the most prolific receivers in NFL history, while Decker has been regarded as a very solid player and Marshall regarded as one of the best over the years in the league.
Both players had big games against the Patriots. Marshall finished with eight receptions for 115 yards and two touchdowns to contribute to his Pro Bowl credentials. Decker had three receptions for 47 yards and a score.
This is an impressive achievement, and the Jets couldn't be happier with how productive their receivers have managed to be given the uncertainty at the quarterback position. Potential starter Geno Smith was injured due to a locker room incident before the start of the season and the team turned to Ryan Fitzpatrick, who himself has sustained significant injuries and has missed time this season.
Going into Week 16, Marshall caught 93 passes for 1,261 yards and 11 touchdowns. Decker was right behind him with 72 receptions for 930 yards and 10 touchdowns of his own. No other player on the Jets had more than two touchdowns, while a couple others had just one or none.
