Super Bowl 2015 inactives: Jonas Gray not playing for Patriots

That Week 11 breakout sure seems like a long time ago.

Jonas Gray's Cinderella story is officially over, at least for the 2014 season. The New England Patriots running back, who exploded from obscurity with a monster game against the Indianapolis Colts in November, is listed as inactive and won't play against the Seattle Seahawks in the Super Bowl.

Since erupting for 201 yards and four touchdowns back in Week 11, Gray has faded back into the depths of the Patriots running back ranks. He played in just four games and had only 20 carries from that point on and hasn’t been seen in the playoffs. Part of that has to do with an injury, but it’s possible he fell out of favor with Bill Belichick after missing a practice the week after his breakout game.

Also inactive for the Patriots are defensive end Zach Moore, wide receiver Josh Boyce, offensive lineman Jordan Devey, running back James White, defensive lineman Joe Vellano and wide receiver Brian Tyms.

Inactive for the Seahawks are quarterback B.J. Daniels, cornerback Marcus Burley, center Patrick Lewis, offensive guard Keavon Milton, defensive end David King, offensive tackle Garry Gilliam and wide receiver Kevin Norwood.
