NFL Combine 2015: Time, TV schedule and live for Saturday

The quarterbacks, running backs and wide receivers will run the “Underwear Olympics” on Saturday.

For over 300 draft prospects, their first taste of the National Football League arrives this weekend at Indianapolis. There, a bevy of front office executives, coaches and scouts will descend upon Lucas Oil Stadium to watch the former college stars work out during the NFL Scouting Combine.

The merits of the combine have been hotly debated over the years. Some view the drills conducted at the event, ranging from the bench press to the 40-yard dash, as significantly less important than the game film the prospects produced in college. Others find that the drills can reveal more about a player than what they put on tape. In either case, every team sends their personnel department to Indianapolis to take part.

Some of the most important parts of the combine aren’t actually broadcast on television. All prospects go through a rigorous medical check that can potentially expose injury issues and risk for a particular player. Some prospects receive multiple looks from the medical staff, much to the chagrin of their agents.

The prospects also meet with GMs and coaches for interviews. In many cases, this is not their first encounter with a particular team. However, these interviews usually have far more people in the room and can lead to some rather odd and uncomfortable situations.

On Saturday, the quarterbacks, running backs and wide receivers will work out.
