The Detroit Lions carved out a little more cap space on Wednesday. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the team has released veteran running back Reggie Bush.
Lions release Reggie Bush, per report
The veteran running back is now in search of his fourth team.

Bush just completed his second year with the team after signing as a free agent. He led the Lions in rushing in 2013 with 1,006 yards. He was less effective this past season, as injuries and the emergence of Joique Bell reduced Bush's workload to just 76 carries. The former USC standout was set to earn $3.5 million in base salary for 2015 with a cap hit of roughly $5.8 million. By cutting Bush, the Lions are expected to save about $1.7 million in cap space. The move leaves only Bell, Theo Riddick and George Winn on the roster at tailback.
Bush began his NFL career as the second overall pick of the New Orleans Saints. There, he became one of the league's premier returners and pass catchers out of the backfield, helping the Saints win Super Bowl XLIV. New Orleans traded Bush to the Miami Dolphins for a reserve safety during the 2011 offseason. Bush spent two years in Miami, accruing over 2,000 rushing yards.
