Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell drew plenty of criticism for the play call that resulted in a game-clinching interception in their Super Bowl loss to the New England Patriots. He drew even more for pointing the finger at Ricardo Lockette for a lack of effort in trying to catch the pass from Russell Wilson. Doug Baldwin, known as one of the more outspoken members of the Seahawks, admitted that he was irked that the coordinator called out a fellow wide receiver, according to Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times.
Super Bowl 2015: Doug Baldwin irked by Darrell Bevell comments
The Seahawks receiver still emphasized the theme of sticking together and moving forward from the heartbreaking loss.

“Yeah, I would be lying if I said it didn’t bother us,” Baldwin said. “He’s a coach, and so you take that criticism or whatnot and you look in the mirror and figure out what you could have done with it. It’s harsh.”
But Baldwin also knew that tensions were high after the loss and chalked the comments up to Bevell speaking “in the heat of the moment.” He also wouldn’t directly put the blame the offensive coordinator for how the game ended, saying the team needs to learn from it and move on:
“You could point the finger at a number of different blames. However, what makes this team special and all is that we stick together. We don’t point the finger... We’re going to carry it and shoulder it together and we’re going to move forward together, because ultimately that’s what is going to make us stronger down the line.”
The Seahawks were attempting to become the ninth team to repeat as Super Bowl champs, but ultimately fell short when Malcolm Butler intercepted Wilson at the 1-yard line with less than 30 seconds remaining in the 28-24 loss. Baldwin did catch a touchdown pass to give Seattle a 10-point lead in the third quarter, but the 3-yard score was his only reception of the game.
