Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning will decide whether to play the 2015 season by the end of February, according to Vic Lombardi of CBS 4 Denver. Lombardi reported Manning is working out to test himself physically in hopes of figuring out if his body has another season in it. If Manning sticks to that timetable, he will allow Denver a clear idea of what it needs to do in terms of both free agency and the draft.
Peyton Manning resumes workouts, decision coming this month
Manning is still evaluating if he wants to play in 2015, but is getting closer to a resolution.

Manning struggled badly down the stretch of the regular season and then capped off his season with a dismal performance in the playoffs against the Indianapolis Colts. Manning threw three touchdowns against six interceptions over the last four regular-season contests before going 26-of-46 for 211 yards in the postseason defeat. Manning sustained a torn right quad Dec. 14 against the San Diego Chargers, but his play had tailed off before that with bad performances against the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills.
Manning's decision will be based off health, along with the Broncos' rocky offseason. One day after being ousted in the Divisional round, general manager John Elway fired head coach John Fox. Fox had won four AFC West titles in as many years with Denver, but Elway stated the two had differing views on how to move forward. The Broncos then let the majority of their coaching staff move on before hiring Gary Kubiak to run the show, with Rick Dennison and Wade Phillips coming in as coordinators.
If Manning walks away, Denver has Brock Osweiler waiting in the wings. Osweiler was a second-round draft pick out of Arizona State in 2012 and has thrown just 10 passes in his career. The Broncos would get significant cap space to sign their bevy of upcoming free agents, with Manning due $21.5 million each of the next two campaigns.
