NFL free agent running back Chris Johnson will not face any gun charges from his arrest on January 9, after Florida police dropped the charges of open carrying/firearms, a second-degree misdemeanor in the state, according to Dom Cosentino of NJ.com. Johnson was pulled over that day for failing to comply with a stop sign, and the arresting officer found two guns in the vehicle. However, Johnson had a license to carry the weapons.
Gun charge against Chris Johnson dropped
Johnson, who was shot over the weekend, will not face any charges for an incident from January.

Johnson had pleaded not guilty to the charges and took to Instagram to tell the world about his innocence once the charges were officially dropped.
Johnson, formerly of the Tennessee Titans and New York Jets, has been recovering from a gunshot wound after being shot in an unrelated drive-by incident on Sunday morning. The driver of the car was killed, while another man was also wounded. There have not been any arrests made in the case.
Last year, Johnson played a limited role for the 4-12 Jets. The former superstar rushed for 663 yards on 4.3 yards per carry and one touchdown.
