Frank Gore spent the first 10 years of his NFL career in San Francisco, but his run with the 49ers has concluded. The veteran running back reportedly decided to sign with the Philadelphia Eagles, but that may no longer be in the cards. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Gore is reconsidering his commitment to Philly.
Frank Gore reconsiders signing with Eagles, Colts in play, per report
The veteran tailback may not be headed to Philadelphia after all.

It’s not clear exactly why Gore has changed his mind or if the 49ers might make a play for him. Per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Indianapolis Colts are believed to have strong interest in signing Gore. The tailback’s deal with the Eagles was reported as a three-year pact with $7.5 million guaranteed in the first two years.
Both the Colts and Eagles are in need of a running back, especially after the latter traded LeSean McCoy to the Buffalo Bills. Gore can't sign until Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET, the official start of free agency in the NFL.
Gore, who turns 32 in May, is nearing the end of his career. The former Miami Hurricane has played in 148 games, carrying the ball 2,442 times for 11,073 yards and 64 touchdowns. His best season came in 2006 when he rushed for nearly 1,700 yards and eight scores. Gore has also been a reliable pass catcher when called upon, hauling in 342 passes over his storied career.
The all-time leading rusher in 49ers history, Gore just completed his eighth 1,000-yard season. He averaged 4.3 yards per carry, close to his career average of 4.5. Though San Francisco has reduced his workload in recent years, Gore continued to provide consistent play at the running back position.
Because of his age, Gore will once again serve in a timeshare in 2015. Though he may wear down near the end of the season, Gore can still tilt the field when healthy.
