IN THE MIX: Adrian Peterson was eligible to attend the Vikings offseason workouts that began this week, but he didn't. He may be closer to leaving town now, too. Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reported Monday night that six teams could be "in the mix" for a draft day deal for the veteran running back.
Rise ‘n Grind: Let the Adrian Peterson trade rumors begin again
There are reportedly six teams considering a deal for the Vikings running back.
RIVERS' CHOICE: Chargers legend LaDainian Tomlinson added a new twist, kind of, to the Philip Rivers trade speculation. He thinks that Rivers wants to leave the Chargers.
IT'S ABOUT THE MONEY: How were the Jets able to acquire Brandon Marshall from the Bears for next to nothing? Money. The Bears wanted to get his massive contract off the books. It reportedly had nothing to do with his attitude or place in the locker room.
DEAL OR NO DEAL: The man partially responsible for making Andy Dalton look like a viable starting quarterback, wide receiver A.J. Green, is in the last year of his rookie deal. But he's not worried about an extension.
SCHEDULE MAINTENANCE: Hope you blocked out three hours of your precious time on Tuesday night. It’s the NFL’s annual schedule release, the Thursday Night Football of the offseason. NFL Network has a three-hour show. ESPN has a more modest two hours reserved for it. Fans are already trying to guess what their team’s schedule will look, like these Steelers fans weighing a potential opener against the world champion Patriots.
POPULAR PICKS: Russell Wilson jerseys were the most popular among consumers last year. Peyton Manning was second. Manning had an edge in the bobblehead department though, running away with the honor of being the most popular cartoonish figurine sold last year.
REPLACEMENT LEVEL: At this point the Vikings would probably love for Matt Kalil, the fourth pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, to play at the league average level for a left tackle. Instead, he's gotten progressively worse in three seasons. So, what happened? And, more importantly, what do the Vikings do about it?
BACK TO CALI: The Rams could be headed back to the Los Angeles area sooner than anticipated. Nothing is finalized, but they're working on plans for joint practices with the Cowboys in Oxnard, Calif., just 60 miles north of Los Angeles. It's a move that surely won't fuel speculation about the team's future, or lack thereof, in St. Louis.
BIGGER ISN’T ALWAYS BETTER: Just because some team has giant cornerbacks doesn’t mean the shorter guys can’t be good players, too. Pro Football Focus has a look at some of the shorter corners in the draft.
