2015 NFL Draft prospect P.J. Williams arrested for DUI, per report

The Florida State product could fall out of the first-round discussion.

Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

With the 2015 NFL Draft under a month away, one of the top cornerback prospects may have caused his stock to tumble. According to a report by NFL Network’s Albert Breer, Florida State’s P.J. Williams was arrested Friday morning for driving under the influence.

The arrest occurred in Leon County, where Florida State is located. Williams was taken in at 3:08 a.m. local time. The arrest comes less than a year after the cornerback was involved in a car accident in Tallahassee that resulted in multiple citations and the suspension of his driving license.

How much the DUI arrest affects Williams’ stock is unclear. He was considered a fringe first-round talent heading into the offseason, according to SB Nation’s draft expert Dan Kadar. With prospects like Trae Waynes, Kevin Johnson and Jalen Collins performing well in their post-collegiate workouts, it is possible that Williams falls completely out of the first-round discussion.

Williams played for three years at Florida State. He recorded four interceptions including a pick six, nine tackles for loss, a forced fumble and a sack.
