Rise ‘n Grind: Are the Eagles going to trade up for Marcus Mariota or what?

Something’s got to give.

WILL CHIP GET HIS MAN: The Eagles-Marcus Mariota trade talk is heating up again. Now, Peter King is saying that Chip Kelly’s team has the best shot at getting up to the second pick, a move that may mean Sam Bradford goes to Tennessee ... or maybe even Cleveland. Someone who knows Kelly really well also thinks he’ll get his man on Thursday night. Philly could throw in some of their own players to make the move, including Brandon Boykin and Mychal Kendricks.

FALCONS-IRVIN TALK: The Atlanta Falcons could be trading for a pass rusher after all, just not the move up in the draft that most have been buzzing about lately. There’s talk now that the Seahawks could ship Bruce Irvin to Atlanta, where he’d be reunited with Dan Quinn. Seattle will not be picking up Irvin’s fifth-year option, but they reportedly want him back anyway.

TRACK THE TRADE TALK: We’re updating you with everything from the rumor mill over here.

BYE BENNETT: Any team looking for a tight end should call Chicago. The Bears are reportedly shopping Martellus Bennett. A reunion with Marc Trestman in Baltimore is the popular theory for now.

THE LAST MOCK: For the first round anyway ... Dan Kadar rolled out his final predictions for Thursday night.

MIKE MAYMOCK: Get it? Anyway, Mike Mayock did a mock draft on television last night. He gave Kevin White to the Jets, which would be an impressive group of receivers.

DRAFT TALK: The latest and greatest episode of the Onside Kick Family Hour is here, and we’re getting you ready for the draft on this week’s NFL podcast.

RUN DMC: The Raiders once spent $5,755 for every yard Darren McFadden produced. We ran the numbers on the decline of the NFL running back, and wonder if Todd Gurley can save a dying species.

WHAT TIME IS THE DRAFT: The fun starts at 8 p.m. ET on Thursday and rolls through the end of the first round, usually close to midnight. Day 2 picks up at 7 p.m. ET on Friday. Here’s a full schedule for the draft.

NOT-SO ANONYMOUS SCOUT: Getting prepped for the NFL Draft is a grueling affair for players. But it’s not easy for their moms, either. Washington State quarterback Connor Halliday’s mom shared her experience with the MMQB.
