2015 NFL Draft results: Rams select Sean Mannion in 3rd round
The Oregon State quarterback adds depth at a key position in St. Louis.

At 6’6 and 229 pounds, Mannion has the size profile for a current NFL quarterback. His time at Oregon State was a fruitful one as he set 18 passing records, developed strong throwing mechanics and played in a pro-style offense.
Scouts typically pointed out his tempo as one of the biggest concerns, especially his progression from center to setting up the throw. Another weakness is how low he carries the ball in the pocket and his propensity for turnovers -- he finished his collegiate career with 30 fumbles and 54 interceptions.
Mannion turned in average performances at the NFL Combine, running a 5.14 40-yard dash, putting up a 31-inch vertical jump and a 105-inch broad jump. He alsoran times of 7.29 and 4.39 seconds in the three-cone drill and 20-yard shuttle, respectively.
He did turn some heads at his pro day, throwing 53 passes for representatives of all 32 NFL teams and completing 46 of them. He did a 20-minute passing display that showcased his arm strength and ability to throw accurate, including on deep routes.
Mannion was a four-year starter for Oregon State and is the Pac-12’s career leader in passing yards (13.600). He also holds the single-season records at Oregon State in passing yards with 4,662 as well as touchdowns with 37.
