TRANSITIONS: As far as interesting/exciting NFL offseason events go, rookie minicamp is right there with the schedule release in terms of excitement. Sure, it’s dull for most of us, but it’s important for the rookies. Transitions, man, transitions. Let Grady Jarrett and Justin Hardy, two of the Falcons’ rookie class, tell you all about why rookie camp matters.
Rise ‘n Grind: NFL rookies go camping
NFL rookie minicamps are boring, but also kind of important.

REAL PRO FOOTBALL TALK: The Onside Kick Family Hour, SB Nation’s critically acclaimed NFL podcast featuring retired NFL defensive end Stephen White and expert football contributor Danny Kelly, dropped on Friday. We recapped the draft’s biggest surprises, best fits and more. We also talked La’el Collins, deflated footballs, etc.
BETTER THAN THE REST: Jameis Winston is apparently tearing it up at the Buccaneers’ rookie minicamp.
TWO DOWN: Rookie minicamp claimed two first-year players late last week. The Jaguars took a heavy loss with Dante Fowler going down with a torn ACL. Broncos tight end Jeff Heuerman, a third-round pick, watched his season come to an early end with a torn ACL too. Yes, it sucks.
FREE ADVICE: Jadeveon Clowney knows what it’s like to have your rookie season torpedoed by injury, and he had some advice for Fowler.
EXTENSION: July 15 is the next major NFL deadline. That’s the last day franchise tagged players can sign a long-term contract agreement with their team. Otherwise, they’ll play out the year on the one-year tag deal. The Broncos really need to get something done with Demaryius Thomas.
STUPID SCANDAL: So tired of DeflateGate already, but onward we march. Jon Stewart had the best take so far. Keith Olbermann has something for the outrage junkies.
STUPID SCANDAL, PART 2: Tom Brady’s probably going to get suspended. He should. It’s a simple rule; he broke it (when he really didn’t need to). So what are the implications of a probable Brady suspension in New England?
THANKS MOM: Did you do something nice for your mother on Sunday? (Hopefully, you have the kind of mom you want to do something nice for.) Anyway, several 49ers made it a special day for their special ladies.
TRADE METTENBERGER: Should the Titans trade Zach Mettenberger? It would probably make sense, but only if they can get a veteran backup for Marcus Mariota. Getting a veteran backup in May is a pretty tall order, though.
BACK TO OHIO: Terrelle Pryor is back in Ohio. He signed with the Bengals. He’s really excited for another chance, yada yada yada.
KING KELLY’S TOUCH: It’s like the Midas Touch, but with Chip Kelly. That means former USC receiver and first-round pick Nelson Agholor is going to have a breakout season in year one, right?
RECONDITIONING: Speaking of Chip’s magic touch, the Eagles don’t say that their wounded players are rehabbing. They’re “reconditioning.” Is there something to it and will it help all those oft-injured stars the Eagles signed in free agency this year?
PROM DATE: Teddy Bridgewater went to prom this weekend. No word on if he wore gloves or if Mike Mayock was there to hassle him the whole time.
