Happy Memorial Day, football fans!
Rise ‘n Grind: Adrian Peterson is still mad at the Vikings
And he’s not showing up for OTAs.

PETERSON IS NOT HAPPY: The Vikings start their organized team activities this week, and Adrian Peterson will not be there. Why? He’s still upset with how the team handled his suspension last year in the wake of his child abuse case. In his mind, the team didn’t do enough to get him back on the field. He’ll lose some money if he misses too much time during OTAs, but the big question is whether he’ll show up to training camp on time when the fines get hefty. The Vikings have been adamant that they won’t trade him.
HEADED WEST: Steve Wyche of the NFL Network explained why he, and many other league insiders, believe that the Rams are done in St. Louis for good after this season.
FREE BRADY: There was a “Free Tom Brady” rally at Gillette Stadium on Sunday. The event’s Facebook page is far more interesting than any rally ever could be.
A NEW PATH: Recently retired 49ers DE Justin Smith might get back into football, eventually, as a coach.
TIGER PROBLEM: At some point the Bengals need to get a contract extension with A.J. Green, currently playing in the final year of his contract. Here’s why that might be difficult to do.
THE WARRIOR: John Ryan, the Seahawks punter, made an appearance on American Ninja Warrior, which is apparently a popular television program.
NECESSARY RISKS: Chip Kelly’s decision to add expensive, injury-prone players to the Eagles this season has been questioned over and over again, but now we’re starting to get a better idea of what he was thinking. Sam Bradford offered an upgrade at quarterback, an upgrade that was actually possible to make. DeMarco Murray can do a lot of things, and one of those things might be working as a two-point specialist, a nice luxury in tight games.
BACK TO BACK: A bold prediction that the Cowboys will win the NFC East again this season.
SADNESS FACTORY: Yes, the Browns can make the playoffs, because anything is possible, technically. But the Browns will need a few things to go right.
CATCHING UP: Tim Brown is going to be inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame this summer. While he waits, he’s taking some time to talk to the Raiders’ first-round pick, receiver Amari Cooper.
