Rise ‘n Grind: Let’s get to know Chip Kelly

A morning load of NFL content starts with a deep dive into the mind of the Eagles head coach.

Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

GET TO KNOW CHIP: Nobody has turned more heads during the offseason than the Philadelphia Eagles' benevolent football autocrat Chip Kelly. Robert Huber turned over every stone Kelly's ever passed and even scored a "guerrilla" interview with the man himself for an incredible in-depth profile of Kelly that's in the latest issue of Philadelphia Magazine. Here's a tidbit: Did you know that Kelly once ran with the bulls in Pamplona ... after hours of film study?

PATRIOTISM FOR PROFIT: No, it’s not the latest Belichick scheme ... it’s the amendment offered by Arizona Senator John McCain to stop the NFL from taking money from the armed forced to salute the troops.

BEACH BRAWL: By now you’ve seen the video of someone alleged to be Saints pass rusher Junior Galette fighting with a group of people on a beach and whipping a woman with his belt. Galette’s lawyer says it’s not his client in the video. However, our eagle-eyed blogger over at Canal Street Chronicles has evidence that it just might be Galette on tape. The NFL is conducting its own investigation.

RAIDER ROOMIES: MLB's Oakland Athletics aren't making stadium plans for the Raiders any easier. Owner Lew Wolff said over the weekend that he doesn't want to share a stadium or even a plot of land with Mark Davis.

DEZ DEAL: What exactly would a deal for Dez Bryant look like? It's all about what the Cowboys pay him in those first three years, and part of the hangup might be the money for that third year.

LESS VANILLA: Are the Titans maybe, kinda, sorta going to be exciting this year?

DUDES HANGIN’ OUT: Colin Kaepernick caught up with the Bay Area’s biggest sports hero over the weekend for some bonding time.

"BIG MAN WITH LITTLE-MAN SKILLS": The Steelers' No. 2 wide receiver, Martavis Bryant, is no one-trick pony.

PREPARED FOR ANYTHING: Not content with having lobbied to change the rules, the Ravens are actually practicing for those illegal formations that seem to stump them.

SLEEPER PICK: Are the Arizona Cardinals really a "sleeper" pick for the NFC anymore?

MIND MELD: C.J. Anderson talked about that one time where Peyton Manning predicted exactly what he was going to do.

BUYING HYPE: The Bengals, a team that obviously knows good quarterbacks when they see them, believe AJ McCarron can be an NFL star.

FRIENDLY ADVICE FOR THE R.O.Y.: Eli Manning offered a little veteran advice for reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year Odell Beckham, who was having a little trouble at minicamp last week and skipped out on his media session.

REX RYAN, WINGMAN: Oh those wacky Ryan brothers ... Rex once broke Rob’s nose because he didn’t want to be his brother’s wingman “after a few hundred beers.
