NOT HARVIN’S FAULT: It’s not Percy Harvin’s fault that he didn’t get along with his teammates in Seattle. It’s his teammates’ fault, according to Harvin, who told the Buffalo News that Golden Tate and Doug Baldwin were “acting like kids” out of jealousy.
Percy Harvin says his former Seahawks teammates were jealous
Now part of the Rex Ryan’s school for wayward football players in Buffalo, Percy Harvin would like you to know it wasn’t his fault things happened the way they did in Seattle. Plus, Geno is making the Jets mad and all kinds of other NFL news.

LET THE EAGLES SOAR: Chip Kelly’s Eagles are undefeated in meaningless preseason play ... their first exhibition game of the year. The rookies played well, the running game looked good and Mark Sanchez kind of stinks. Tim Tebow produced mixed results, but he made one young Eagles fan really happy with a rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter.
COLTS HAVE WORK TO DO: Andrew Luck was in midseason form already, even with the lineup short on starting skill players. The same could not be said for the Colts ability to run block or make tackles.
BAD MOVE, GENO: Fresh off jaw surgery, Geno Smith took off the bandages and played catch in the parking lot of his apartment building with a photographer from the NY Post watching it. The Post made a pun-tastic front page out of it, but the Jets were not amused by the whole thing.
SB Nation presents: Smith’s broken jaw isn’t the worst moment in Jets history
COWBOYS INJURY: Dallas cornerback Byron Jones, the team’s first-round pick this year, injured his shoulder in a collision with his teammate. It’s not thought to be a serious injury.
TRENT STILL TERRIBLE: Maybe Trent Richardson was blinded by the daylight beaming through this hole his offensive line opened for him ... or maybe he’s just not very good.
GIANTS SIGN A SAFETY: Starved for secondary help, the Giants signed safety Brandon Meriweather. There really aren’t many other options out there.
BROCKTOBERFEST: Everyone in Denver is apparently really excited about Brock Osweiler.
SMITH OPTIMISTIC: Jets rookie receiver Devin Smith thinks he can be ready for Week 1.
UNKNOWN INJURY: Doctors still don’t know what’s wrong with Raiders receiver Rod Streeter.
THE OTHER GENO: This is shaping up to be a big season for Bengals DT Geno Atkins.
BUST NO MORE: Chiefs tackle Eric Fisher has been a disappointment since being picked first overall in 2013, but there are signs that things could be different this year.
NOT GOING THERE: Washington isn’t going to bring back Chris Cooley, no matter how desperate they are for a tight end.
GOAL LINE STAND: The 49ers’ defense is reeling from personnel losses but watch this goal line stand from this weekend’s game. There might be some hope yet.
FANTASY CORNER: If you’re relying on “sleeper” players in the later rounds of your fantasy football draft, you should read Bill Barnwell’s examination of the phenomenon at Grantland.
PHOTO FINISH: I should’ve passed this along last week because it’s a great article, but you can find time to go read this story about Elsa Garrison, the Getty photographer who looked back on her success after two decades in a business dominated by men.
