The Rams are back in California ... for practice

It’s just a joint practice with the Cowboys, and it’s totally not a preview of things to come, OK? Also, fantasy football extravaganza, Eli Manning’s contract situation, the latest on the race to Los Angeles and more.

OXNARD RAMS: The Rams returned to Southern California on Monday ... for a joint practice with the Dallas Cowboys. Los Angeles Rams fans turned out in droves to welcome the team whose owner is trying desperately to move them there.

LINE VS. LINE: One thing about the Cowboys and Rams practicing together, you get to see the Dallas offensive line versus the St. Louis defensive line, the best against the best. So how’d that work out?

PROFIT SHARING: Rather than a relocation fee, the league is reportedly considering a profit sharing arrangement for whichever team ends up moving to L.A. The NFL may also skip a vote and make the determination about which team will move there on its own, since the competing bids both would have a hard time getting the necessary 24 votes.

FANTASY FOOTBALL FANTASY: SB Nation’s fantasy football preview rolled out yesterday, and it’s got EVERYTHING you could possibly want to finally win your league this year.

ELI READY TO GET PAID: The Giants would like to sign Eli Manning to a contract extension before the season starts. Just how much money can a two-time Super Bowl winner command? A lot.

JOHNSON SIGNS: The Cardinals signed RB Chris Johnson to a one-year deal at the league minimum, but with incentives, it could pay him $2 million.

PARTICIPATION TROPHY: Maybe James Harrison is right about participation trophies, but he’s also making a big parenting mistake, according to PFT Commenter.

PRESEASON PERFORMANCE: Does a running back’s performance in the preseason tell us anything about how he’ll play during the regular season? Danny Kelly runs the numbers.

NOT JEALOUS: Golden Tate says that Percy Harvin is wrong about what happened in Seattle.

NOT IMPRESSED: Nobody cares about Gronk’s giant diamond ring.

DISAPPOINTMENT: Browns cornerback Justin Gilbert is not impressing his coaches.

BUCS TACKLE: The Buccaneers added a tackle.

COME TOGETHER: Cowboys and Eagles fans don’t have much in common, but they put their differences aside to help the family of a deceased pilot who had a strange connection to both teams.

FIGHT POWER RANKINGS: Training camp fights are a rite of summer for NFL players. Naturally, we felt compelled to rank this year’s dustups from practice.

DOLPHIN SUPER BOWL: The Dolphins are going to win a Super Bowl within the next decade.

DRAFT PROSPECTS: If your team needs a quarterback next year, you should keep an eye on the Big Ten East this season.
