The Green Bay Packers were dealt a huge blow this week when they lost Jordy Nelson, their No. 1 receiver and one of the league's best wideouts, to a season-ending ACL tear. However, if there is any team that can overcome such a devastating injury, it is probably the Packers. Although the offense may not be as explosive as in past seasons, the Packers have enough receiving depth, and reigning MVP Aaron Rodgers at quarterback, to remain a Super Bowl contender.
Eagles vs. Packers 2015 live stream: Game time, TV schedule and how to watch online
The Packers prepare for life after Jordy Nelson with a Saturday night matchup against the Eagles.
Randall Cobb -- who nearly matched Nelson last season in touchdowns (12 to 13) and receptions (91 to 98) -- should have no problems assuming the title of No. 1 receiver. Second-year wideout Davante Adams, who has gotten rave reviews in camp as a potential breakout star, is primed to step up and be the second option. Plus, further down the depth chart guys like Jeff Janis and Ty Montgomery now have a chance to see increased roles in the passing game, and there is every indication that they are ready to deliver in supporting roles.
The Eagles steamrolled through their first two preseason games and now face their biggest test against a Packers team that handed them an embarrassing 53-20 loss last November. Sam Bradford got his first live-action reps in nearly a year last weekend, but he played just a few snaps. The biggest positive was probably that he didn't get hurt. Bradford now needs to show that he can hold up for multiple series and is capable of directing Chip Kelly's up-tempo offense.
