The good news for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is that they won't be facing another Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback this Sunday. The bad news? They'll be going against Drew Brees, and it is probably going to be even worse.
Buccaneers vs. Saints 2015 picks and predictions: Not much love for Jameis Winston on the road
New Orleans is predicted to roll at home against a hapless Tampa Bay team.
One week after being blown out by Marcus Mariota and the Tennessee Titans, the Bucs now have to travel to the Big Easy. They will be facing a New Orleans Saints team that needs a victory after a 31-19 loss to the Arizona Cardinals in Week 1. Without departed All-Pro tight end Jimmy Graham, the Saints only scored one touchdown on four trips into the red zone, and they struggled to run the ball on every part of the field.
None of that is likely to be an issue against a Tampa Bay defense that was chewed up in Marcus Mariota's NFL debut on a team coming off a 2-14 season. The Bucs linebackers struggled to cover short passes, and the secondary didn't tackle well on anything over the middle. That's a recipe for disaster against Brees and Marques Colston.
The Titans did have one advantage that New Orleans won't have -- Tennessee defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau's innovative pass rush schemes have been confusing rookie quarterbacks like Jameis Winston since the 1970s. The Saints didn't record a single sack of Carson Palmer in the opener, and will have to step that up against Winston, who can make things happen if he gets time. When he's under pressure, though, he struggles badly, throwing two interceptions against the Titans and fumbling twice.
The season is only a week old, but with the Bucs coming off a 2-14 season and a blowout loss to the Titans, they have a pretty firm grasp on last place in most power rankings.
That is reflected in the picks, as well. All eight experts at CBS are picking the Saints, as are all eight of our own experts here at SB Nation.
