Brett Favre and Terrell Owens are back in the news. The former All-Pros were two of the 108 players nominated on Wednesday to be part of the Pro Football Hall of Fame's class of 2016. This will be the first year that Favre and Owens are eligible to be inducted into Canton. Others on that list include Clinton Portis, Alan Faneca, Lawyer Milloy and Darren Sharper.

Kurt Warner, Terrell Davis, Marvin Harrison, Bill Cowher and Jimmy Johnson are among the group of eight 2015 finalists who are on the ballot once again.

The group of 108 nominees consists of 93 players (51 offense, 33 defense, nine special teams) and 15 coaches. The Hall of Fame’s 46-member voting committee will trim that list to 25 in November, and then to 15 in January.

That group of 15, along with senior candidates Ken Stabler and Dick Stanfel, and 2016 contributor candidate Edward DeBartolo, Jr, will form the final nominees for the Hall of Fame's class of 2016. That list will be whittled down to between four and eight people by the committee on Feb. 6, 2016, the night before Super Bowl 50.

That final group will make up the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s class of 2016.
