STREAK CONTINUES: The Broncos set a new record on Thursday night, winning their 13th straight division game on the road, but their 31-24 win wasn’t necessarily a pretty one.
Gary Kubiak thought his system was bigger than Peyton Manning. It’s not.
The Broncos quarterback threw away Gary Kubiak’s playbook to break yet another record. And he even looked a little like the old Peyton.
ANOTHER RECORD: Peyton Manning become only the second quarterback to top the 70,000-yard mark. If he can stay healthy, he'll break Brett Favre's all-time record for passing yards later this season. He might not have topped that mark on Thursday night if he hadn't ditched Gary Kubiak's disastrous playbook after the first quarter. Who thought it would be a good idea to let someone other than Peyton Manning call the plays?
TOUGH BREAK: This game was an especially tough one for Jamaal Charles. He rushed for 125 yards and a touchdown, but sealed the Chiefs’ fate with a fumble, his second, in the last minute of the game. He took full responsibility for it.
TAKING HIS SHOTS: Von Miller took a shot at Alex Smith off the field. He took another one at Travis Kelce after the game.
DANCE: Miller did perform his NSFW sack dance last night.
WATTAGE: You don’t have to wake up at 3:45 a.m., but you can step inside J.J. Watt’s life for a little bit.
UNLUCKY: What’s wrong with the Colts?
WHOOPS: The NFL admitted refs made two costly mistakes that hurt the Giants last Sunday night against the Cowboys.
NEW RECORD: Guinness is coming to Ralph Wilson Stadium this weekend for the Bills-Patriots game. We might have a new record for the loudest stadium.
BULAGA HURT: Packers right tackle Bryan Bulaga sprained his MCL in practice. He may not be able to play this week against the Seahawks, but he shouldn’t miss too much time.
DEFLATEGATE, THE SEQUEL: Bob Kravitz, the guy who broke the story in the first place, spoke to a former NFL official who has always been suspicious of Patriots locker room attendant Jim McNally. In fact, the former official had actually reported McNally to the league before, more than six years ago.
LADY AND THE TRUMP: What happens to a guy wearing inflatable Bud Light shoulder pads to the GOP Presidential debate? PFT Commenter found out.
CLOWNEY: Remember Jadeveon Clowney? Well, he’s back and looking pretty good.
SHADY: Bills running back LeSean McCoy may not be 100 percent healthy for this week’s tilt against the Patriots.
HOT SEAT: Jim Irsay said nobody’s on the hot seat in Indianapolis, but Colts GM Ryan Grigson really should be.
FANTASY CORNER: Here it is, your sit/start advice for the week. Soak it in, win big.
