DEAD HORSES: Darlings of the offseason, big winners in free agency and a favorite pick to win the AFC ... fortunes have changed for the Indianapolis Colts after two straight hapless losses to start the season. Last night, they fell to the Jets, 20-7. Andrew Luck was intercepted three times and the Colts turned the ball over a total of five times.
The Colts lost and it’s Andrew Luck’s fault
The Colts are 0-2, Andrew Luck is playing terrible and there is much discontent in Indianapolis. MNF fallout and more!
UNLUCKY: Head coach Chuck Pagano didn’t spare anyone, especially quarterback Andrew Luck. “It’s not trigonometry,” he said about his quarterback needing to take better care of the ball. He added that Luck should be used to dealing with the perpetually crappy Colts O-line, too. Some people thought that he was throwing his quarterback under the bus. His comment about the O-line could also be read as a shot at Ryan Grigson, the general manager. Luck also criticized his play.
HOT SEAT: Nobody’s going easy on Luck, not even fans. And they’re now calling for both Grigson and Pagano to be on the hot seat this season.
GENERAL: Gen. Andrew Luck, Civil War hero, wrote home after the game, expressing his frustrations with the recent campaign.
JETS DEFENSE: Let’s not overlook how good the Jets defense has been. Head coach Todd Bowles is VERY pleased with his team.
INJURIES: Jets receiver Eric Decker is having an MRI on his knee. For the Colts, cornerback Vontae Davis left with a concussion and tight end Dwayne Allen hurt his ankle.
MASCOT PRICES: How much is a mascot worth? The Vikings don’t think one is worth $20,000.
NOT AUTOMATIC: The new extra point rule is having its intended effect.
SOMETHING BORROWED: The Ravens liked the Patriots’ trick play so much they used it themselves.
POWER RANKINGS: The weekly power rankings are here, and we should probably just go ahead and prepare for a Patriots-Packers Super Bowl.
WAIVER WIRE: Does your fantasy football team need some help? Probably! Lucky for you, our waiver wire advice column has arrived just in time to help.
HE’S BACK: Le’Veon Bell wants you to know that he is ready to return from his suspension this week.
