Broncos vs. Lions 2015 picks and predictions: Experts think Denver will start 3-0

Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos will start their season 3-0, at least according to most NFL experts.

The Denver Broncos haven't looked perfect this season, with Peyton Manning having his struggles and the running game essentially being nonexistent, but they're still 2-0 on the season and have a lot of momentum heading into a Week 3 game against the 0-2 Detroit Lions. Despite the record disparity, the teams do match up well, and you'll be able to watch the game here.

Denver trailed the AFC West rival Kansas City Chiefs by a touchdown in the final minute of their Week 2 matchup, but they managed to put up a pair of touchdowns to steal that win and preserve the unbeaten record. Meanwhile, the Lions had little to offer their NFC North rivals in Week 2, falling to the Minnesota Vikings, 26-16.

It's been a rough start for the Lions. Despite Matthew Stafford having Calvin Johnson and Golden Tate on offense, they've been unable to move the ball thanks to a poor offensive line that can't keep Stafford clean or even on his feet. Defensively, the team is missing Ndamukong Suh and Nick Fairley, and Adrian Peterson dominated them in Week 2.

As far as stopping the run goes, they'll be playing a Broncos team that has just 130 rushing yards through two games. Ronnie Hillman has put up 75 yards with no touchdowns, while C.J. Anderson has 56 yards and no touchdowns. It's a solid opportunity for either the Broncos to get the running game on track or Detroit to get a grip on its run defense.

Either way, running the ball could be the way to victory for either team. Denver's defense has been excellent at getting to the passer and Detroit really wants Ameer Abdullah to showcase the same game-breaking ability in the run game that he has flashed in the kick return game.

The experts picking for CBS Sports are unanimous in picking the Broncos, with none of the eight giving the Lions a chance to win it. The same goes for the folks at ESPN, with all 13 of their experts picking the Broncos to win this game.

Here at SB Nation, the experts were much, much more divided on the game. Four experts were joined by the OddsShark computer in picking the Lions, while three went with the Broncos to win it.
