Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger left Sunday's game against the St. Louis Rams with a knee injury and was ruled out for the remainder of the game. An MRI on Sunday night revealed an MCL sprain but no damage to the ACL in Roethlisberger's left knee, per Jason LaCanfora of CBS Sports, with the quarterback expected to recover in a period as soon as four weeks, or perhaps six weeks per Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Roethlisberger was sacked on back to back plays, and on the second one he stayed down on the field clutching his left knee in obvious pain. Mark Barron was the one who got him on the sack, with Aaron Donald hitting him on the previous play. He was helped to the sideline by the training staff and his backup, Michael Vick, came in. Roethlisberger was eventually carted to the locker room with the injury.
Following the game, Roethlisberger was spotted on crutches with a brace around his knee.

Roethlisberger has been the team’s starting quarterback since he was drafted in the first round back in 2004. He’s played in all 16 games in each of the past two seasons, but has missed games in eight of his 11 seasons prior to this year. Coming into Sunday’s game, he’d completed 47 of 65 passes for 720 yards, four touchdowns and an interception.
In Sunday’s game, Roethlisberger had completed 20 of 24 passes for 192 yards with an interception prior to going down with the injury. This is the first regular season action Vick will see in a Steelers uniform. He played in 10 games with the New York Jets last season, completed 64 of 121 passes for 604 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions.
