The biggest loser from last week's slate of games was arguably the Pittsburgh Steelers, who saw their playoff chances take an enormous hit after getting upset by the Baltimore Ravens.
NFL picks and predictions, Steelers vs. Browns 2016: Pittsburgh expected to roll in Cleveland
The Steelers have only one path to the postseason: beat the Browns and pray that the Jets lose to the Bills.
Heading into last Sunday, the Steelers controlled their own destiny for a postseason berth. All they had to do was win their final two contests against the Ravens and Cleveland Browns, who had combined for a 7-21 record in the first 15 weeks of the season. In one of the most surprising outcomes of a wild Week 16, Pittsburgh suffered a shocking loss at Baltimore and tumbled out of playoff position.
The ramifications of that horrible egg-laying loom large. The Steelers -- once considered playoff darlings and "the team that nobody wants to face" -- now need help to simply make it to the postseason. They have one clinching scenario: beat the Browns and pray that the New York Jets lose to the Buffalo Bills. The computers say that's not likely to happen. Football Outsiders has the Steelers' playoff odds at 36.1 percent, a 51.2 percentage-point drop from last week.
The Steelers should be able to handle a Browns team that they have dominated since the franchise returned to Cleveland in 1999. In that span, Pittsburgh has won 28 of 34 matchups, including 18 of 20 with Ben Roethlisberger as the starting quarterback. However, four of those six losses have come in Cleveland, including an embarrassing 31-10 defeat in the Steelers' most recent trip there last season.
The Browns, meanwhile, have already turned their focus to next season as they jockey for the top slot in the 2016 NFL Draft. A loss on Sunday coupled with a Tennessee Titans win over the Indianapolis Colts would give the Browns the first overall pick. As bad as the Browns have been in the past decade, they actually haven't picked first in the draft since 2000.
The experts are barely giving Cleveland a chance to win this game. Each of the eight guys at CBS Sports is picking the Steelers. The only person on SB Nation’s panel taking the Browns is PFT Commenter.
