Bet on the underdogs in Saturday’s NFL divisional playoff games
The Chiefs and Packers are both on the road and big time underdogs in Saturday’s games ... and you should bet on them.
BET THE UNDERDOGS: Here’s are this weekend’s picks against the spread and betting info.
The Patriots are favored by 4.5 points. The Cardinals are getting a full touchdown over the Packers. In other words, it’s a good week to bet on the underdogs.
STEELERS FINES: Joey Porter fined $10,000 for being on the field vs. Bengals. Adam Jones earned a 15-yard penalty when he got in Porter’s face, which set the Steelers up for a game-winning field goal. Steelers OL coach Mike Munchak was fined for yanking Reggie Nelson’s hair.
WAYNE RETIRING: Reggie Wayne is retiring. One of the Colts’ all-time greats, wide receiver Reggie Wayne, told CBS4’s Mike Chappell that he is retiring from the NFL after 14 seasons with Indianapolis.
NEW COLTS COACH: Colts hire Joe Philbin as offensive line coach. It was widely reported that Philbin was expected to join Ben McAdoo with the Giants. But here we are.
PACMAN KEEPS HIS WORD: Pacman Jones kept his word and apologized to Antonio Brown. Brown isn’t playing this weekend, so Pacman did what he said he’d do after his dirty hit on the Steelers receiver last week.
LOS ANGELES RAMS: The Rams unveiled their new logo, which looks exactly like the old one, except for the city’s name. Here’s a handy seven-step guide for screwing a city out of its team.
CHIEFS at PATRIOTS
4:35 p.m. ET, CBS
MACLIN’S STATUS: Jeremy Maclin travels with Chiefs to New England. Nope, don’t know yet if he’ll play.
UPSET: How the Chiefs can beat the Patriots. Pressure, pressure, pressure. Julian Edelman is back this week, too, which means the Chiefs’ defense will have to be on him at all times.
TARGETING KELCE: The Patriots “are going to beat the living tar out of Kelce.” New England’s game plan revolves around making it a very rough day for the Chiefs tight end.
GRONK’S STATUS: Gronkowski will play. He’s been dealing with a knee injury, but that won’t keep him off the field.
THE COACH: Bill Belichick has mastered the coin toss. Of course he has.
PACKERS at CARDINALS
8:15 p.m. ET, NBC
HIGH RISK OFFENSE: The Cardinals’ “no risk it, no biscuit” offense could be too much for the Packers. Arizona’s offense thrives on big plays. Can the Packers keep a lid on it?
UGLIER PACKERS: This year’s Packers are uglier but just as capable of winning it all. It’s a tempting comparison to make, but the 2015 Packers look nothing like the 2010 team that won the Super Bowl.
FITZ’S GOAL: Larry Fitzgerald is the nicest guy on the field and he wants something. This may be the veteran receiver’s last shot at a Super Bowl victory.
INJURY REPORT: The Packers could be hurting for corners. The good news for the Packers is that the offensive line is healthier. The bad news is that the secondary could be short on cornerbacks. Everybody practiced for the Cardinals.
RODGERS’ TARGETS: The Packers running backs could be Aaron Rodgers’ best friends. Arizona has few weaknesses on defense, but defending passes to running backs is one that Green Bay can and should exploit.
PICKS: A lot of people are picking the Cardinals to beat the Packers on Saturday night. Who are you picking?
