The Indianapolis Colts will start Josh Freeman at quarterback for the regular season finale against the Tennessee Titans. It will be Freeman's first NFL start in over two years.
Josh Freeman is the Colts starting QB for Week 17
The Colts are scraping the bottom of the barrel at quarterback this week.

The Colts are getting desperate at quarterback with multiple injuries blowing up the depth chart. Andrew Luck, Matt Hasselbeck and Charlie Whitehurst were all ruled out earlier this week, forcing Indianapolis to rely on street free agents. Indianapolis also signed Ryan Lindley this week, while Stephen Morris, who was promoted from the practice squad, is inactive as well.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers made Freeman a first-round pick out of Kansas State in the 2009 NFL Draft. He had a promising start to his career, with his best season coming in 2010 when he threw for 25 touchdowns to just six interceptions. Things quickly went off the rails after that and the Buccaneers released him in the middle of the 2013 season.
His last NFL appearance came shortly afterwards, when the Minnesota Vikings thrust him into duty after signing him. With less than a week of preparation for a Monday night game against the New York Giants, Freeman completed just 20 of 53 passes for 190 yards, an astonishingly low 3.6 yards per carry. Freeman also suffered a concussion in that game and didn't make another appearance for Minnesota before leaving as a free agent in the offseason.
Freeman bounced around the league afterwards, and eventually began his attempt to make an NFL comeback when he played for the Brooklyn Bolts of the Fall Experimental Football League, which only has three teams. The Colts are the first team to sign him since his brief FXFL stint.
The Colts need a number of wacky scenarios to make the playoffs this year, but with so little time to learn the offense, Freeman is unlikely to turn the clock back to 2010.
