The Tampa Bay Buccaneers wrapped up a disappointing 6-10 season with a 38-10 loss on Sunday and Mike Evans put one heck of an exclamation point on the year. Let’s first start with the aftermath:
Mike Evans ejected for ‘disrespectfully addressing an official’ after tirade
That is a whole lot going on. Now, for how we got there.
The play started innocently enough as Jameis Winston tried to hit Evans in the end zone. The pass fell incomplete and Evans was frustrated there wasn’t a pass interference called.
That is all standard enough. But Evans wasn’t just upset by the lack of the call, he was really upset. He got flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct for yelling at an official ... and continued yelling until he picked up a second flag. He was then ejected for “disrespectfully addressing the official.”
Two flags, 30 yards in penalties and an ejection. Quite the way to end the year.
