Pro Bowl 2016 final score: Team Irvin dominates in 49-27 win

Russell Wilson threw for three touchdowns in less than a half of play as Team Irvin pulled away with the convincing Pro Bowl win.

Team Irvin triumphed over Team Rice in the 2016 Pro Bowl, racing out to a 49-27 win on a sunny day in Honolulu. Russell Wilson threw for three touchdowns on 8-of-12 passing in the first half. Allen Robinson led his team with 105 receiving yards and a touchdown on just two catches.

The first half was filled with scoring, as usual in the Pro Bowl. But Team Irvin struck twice as much as Team Rice. Eli Manning hit Travis Kelce for a 4-yard touchdown to get the scoring started for Team Rice, but Team Irvin put up a couple touchdowns in response. The first saw Russell Wilson hit Julio Jones for a 14-yard touchdown, and they got the ball back shortly after when Manning was intercepted by Sean Lee.

Wilson then found Devonta Freeman for a 6-yard touchdown to put Team Irvin up, 14-7. Wilson got his third touchdown of the day when he found rookie running back Todd Gurley in the end zone. Minnesota Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater also threw for a touchdown, this one to running back Darren Sproles, but he was also picked off by Marcus Peters.

That's fine for Team Irvin though, as Team Rice quarterback Derek Carr was intercepted by Jurrell Casey on the ensuing possession. Carr got the ball back and drove his team into the end zone with some big passes to Kelce and Odell Beckham Jr. Doug Martin punched it into the end zone from 3 yards out to get Team Rice within seven points, but Team Irvin struck right back on its next drive, with Bridgewater hitting Robinson for a 50-yard touchdown.

Tyrod Taylor entered the tame for Team Rice, but he tossed an interception to Harrison Smith on his first drive. Since it's the Pro Bowl and Team Irvin was up 14 points, that meant some wacky plays. Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman ran a play on offense, a reverse that lost 22 yards. As a bonus, Sherman got tackled out of bounds by his teammate, linebacker Bobby Wagner.

Team Irvin punted the ball away, but got it back immediately when Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie got his second interception of the game. They capitalized on the turnover with yet another long touchdown pass, this time from Jameis Winston to Delanie Walker for 53 yards.

The fourth quarter was mostly an afterthought, featuring oddities like Beckham playing defense for entire drives. Winston hit DeAndre Hopkins in the end zone to further expand Team Irvin's lead. A toe-tapping touchdown by Jarvis Landry was one of the few second-half highlights for Team Rice. Team Rice threatened to make it a game late, but Taylor's pass to the end zone was tipped and picked off by NaVorro Bowman. It was a nice little moment for Bowman, who is back in the Pro Bowl after a devastating knee injury wiped out his 2014 season.
