Following last week’s home victory over the Saints, the Kansas City Chiefs head to Indianapolis for a Week 8 matchup against Andrew Luck and the 3-4 Colts.
Chiefs vs. Colts 2016, NFL picks and predictions: Kansas City should have no trouble in Indianapolis
It’s not a consensus, but the experts heavily favor the Chiefs on the road.
It will be the 21st game played between the two teams, with Indianapolis holding a 12-8 series lead. The teams’ last regular season meeting was in December of 2013, when the Colts beat Kansas City 23-7 behind Luck’s 241-yard passing performance.
Running back Spencer Ware is carrying the load for the Chiefs as Jamaal Charles continues to ease his way back from injury. Ware’s 129.5 yards from scrimmage per game ranks third in the NFL, behind just David Johnson of Arizona and Ezekiel Elliott of Dallas.
Indianapolis continues to struggle on defense. Through 7 weeks of the season, the Colts have given up the fifth-most yards per game (399.7). Andrew Luck should provide the defense with a good enough cushion to work with, as the quarterback has thrown for 300 or more yards in five out of his last six home games.
It’s not unanimous, but experts are giving the overall edge to Kansas City. Only one member of ESPN’s panel cast a vote in favor of the Colts. At CBS, five of their eight writers also predicted that Kansas City will come out on top.
Here at SB Nation, the Chiefs are the clear-cut favorite.
