After taking down the undefeated Vikings in last week’s 21-10 home victory, the Philadelphia Eagles head to Dallas to face the Cowboys in Sunday’s battle for NFC East superiority. It will be the 111th all-time matchup between the Eagles and the rival Cowboys, who sit atop the NFC East with a 5-1 record.

For both Philly and Dallas, rookies are running the show. Carson Wentz, the second overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, leads all rookie quarterbacks with eight passing touchdowns. Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott is the first rookie in league history to rush for 130 yards or more in four consecutive games. Eagles wide receiver Jordan Matthews, who tore the Cowboys up to the tune of 133 yards and a touchdown in the teams’ last contest, has recorded four touchdowns in his past four games against NFC East opponents. Yet despite a few standouts, Philadelphia’s offense is struggling to gain yards. The Eagles rank a lackluster 28th in the league with 322.2 yards per game and 29th in passing yards per game (210.7).

Meanwhile, the Cowboys are eating up yards at a voracious pace. Ezekiel Elliott heads the No. 1 rushing attack in the league, with Dallas averaging just over 161 yards per game on the ground.

While the bitter rivalry between the two teams remains one of the NFL’s most volatile, at least the Cowboys and Eagles can come together and bond over the fact that their former teammate DeMarco Murray is stuck in Tennessee with the 3-4 Titans.

Bragging rights still belong to Dallas regarding the matchup history. The Cowboys hold a 61-49 all-time series lead over the Eagles.
