Here’s what an Eagles-Browns draft deal could look like. Do the Eagles and Browns have a deal in place? According to Alex Marvez at Fox Sports, they do. Here’s what it would look like according to the report:
The Eagles really, really want to trade up in the NFL Draft. Should they?
Everybody wants a quarterback.

Eagles get:
2016 first-round pick, No. 2
Browns get:
2016 first-round pick, No. 8
2016 third-round pick, No. 77
2016 third-round pick, No. 79
2017 first-round pick
2017 third-round pick
That’s considerably less than what the Rams gave the Titans for the first overall pick this year. Philly’s front office feels like either Carson Wentz or Jared Goff can be their franchise quarterback, as opposed to Memphis’ Paxton Lynch who they might be able to grab if they stayed in the eighth spot.
Philadelphia doesn’t have a second-round pick this year because they sent it to the Rams last year for Sam Bradford, who they re-signed to a team-friendly, two-year deal this year. If they made this deal, they wouldn’t be picking again until the fourth round.
They also acquired Chase Daniel in free agency. Either one of those guys affords the Eagles the luxury of letting Goff/Wentz soak it all up on the bench for a year or two, which most experts believe they need to do.
So is it worth it? If that reported price is correct, it’s not a huge hit for the Eagles. Nevertheless, they are giving up quantity for the chance to draft a quarterback at the top of the draft. If the QB they end up drafting works out, then it will have definitely been worth it, because there’s only so much you can do in the NFL on a consistent basis without a viable franchise signal caller. We may not know whether or not the deal was worth it for a couple years.
IF NOT TWO, THEN THREE: Eagles tried up to trade up to No. 3 pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, per report. The Eagles really, really want to trade up in the draft. Either that, or someone inside that building knows exactly what the media likes to hear this time of year.
Johnny Manziel says he's coming back to the NFL in 2016. Pardon my skepticism ... Nike dropped him too, just a day after he officially lost his second agent.
SPRUCE GOOSE: Nelson Spruce wants to prove being a NFL WR is about more than a 40-yard dash time. Nelson Spruce is the all-time leader in receptions in the Pac-12, but underwhelmed at the 2016 NFL Combine.
WENTZ OUTTA NOWHERE: Carson Wentz being a top NFL Draft pick doesn’t invalidate all of QB recruiting. Want to be a surprise QB prospect? Grow nine inches and 117 pounds in seven years.
KIPER HAS GONE CRAZY: Mel Kiper has Ezekiel Elliott falling out of the first round in his latest mock draft. Kiper also has Jared Goff ranked ahead of Carson Wentz in his latest mock.
TOO HIGH TO WIN: Taylor Decker plays too high for an NFL tackle, but gets the damn job done. Low man wins is a time-honored truism for offensive linemen. That rule doesn’t seem to apply to the Ohio State tackle, but retired NFL defensive end Stephen White sees a guy who could still do the job, regardless of how high he plays.
BAD BOYS: Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola are cleaning up the streets. Tom Brady’s favorite li’l guys posted a YouTube video where they’re dressed as cops, running around Boston. Their mission: to protect and serve ... burgers.
WHAT’S UP WITH MYLES JACK’S KNEE? Myles Jack’s knee is either a red flag or nothing to worry about, depending on who you ask. Jack tore his meniscus in September and concerns are still swirling with less than two weeks until the 2016 NFL Draft.
FILM ROOM: Inside the film room with Reggie Ragland. This is a fun look at the tape with the Alabama linebacker.
