Some NFL assistant coach thinks Kirk Cousins could be better than Andrew Luck. That’s what they told Mike Freeman of Bleacher Report, and Stampede Blue has a thorough deconstruction of that very hot take.
Is Kirk Cousins better than Andrew Luck? No, but some NFL coach thinks he is.
Stick to coaching. Leave the hot takes to the professionals.

It’s also another reminder that NFL coaches aren’t always the most savvy football minds.
Listen, no disrespect to Kirk Cousins, who is fine, but despite a down year in 2015, what we’ve already seen from Luck is pretty amazing. He still hasn’t reached his plateau as a player, and the Colts front office is finally figuring out that they need to put a real team around him, too.
NFL VS. BIG INSURANCE
Will insurance companies end up changing the NFL? Insurance giant AIG is one of the companies that would be paying out a chunk of the $1 billion head trauma settlement with retired players. Now, they’re suing the NFL on the basis that the league wasn’t honest with players about head injuries and the long-term health impact. Albert Breer at the MMQB notes how that could force major changes in how the NFL does business.
GIANTS TRYING TO LAND MONROE
The Ravens released Eugene Monroe on Wednesday. They reportedly tried to trade him to the Giants, but the two sides couldn’t reach a final agreement. Ronnie Stanley, the sixth overall pick in the draft, takes over at left tackle.
Giants are scrambling to sign Monroe, and they have competition. The Giants' search for a tackle continues, and they have a "decent chance" of landing Monroe. Other teams are in the mix, possibly the Chargers and Seahawks. The good news is that Giants' left tackle Ereck Flowers is "more comfortable" in second season. Do the Giants feel the same way?
THE BEST OFFENSIVE TRIOS: Ranking the offensive threesomes for all 32 NFL teams. Would you rather have Roethlisberger, Brown and Bell, or Brady, Gronk and Edelman? Bill Barnwell ranks all 32 teams’ set of offensive triplets, with the Steelers and Patriots earning top honors.
BRONCOS DEALING WITH SANDERS: The Broncos and Emmanuel Sanders are exchanging proposals. Sanders, 29, is in the last year of his three-year deal with the team. He reportedly wants four years with $24 million guaranteed. Will the Broncos be willing to spend that much given how much they say they plan to run the ball?
DO THE JETS EVEN WANT WILKERSON? Muhammad Wilkerson thinks that the Jets don't want him. The Jets say that they do, but it sure doesn't look like that. There's absolutely no hint of a long-term deal. Wilkerson did show up for camp. However, he spent the day with the team's trainers rehabbing his broken leg.
WENTZ’S BIG DAY: Carson Wentz got locked in a bathroom.
VON MILLER WILL NOT HOLD OUT: Von Miller: “I want to be a Bronco forever. I just want the feeling to be the same from the Broncos.” He also said he has no plans to sit out this season at all.
FLEXING ON A TROLL: Pat McAfee takes down a troll. The Colts did their own version of “Mean Tweets,” and the punter offered some Twitter user a handy lesson in grammar.
