Broncos vs. Chiefs 2017: Start time, TV schedule for ‘Monday Night Football’

The AFC West is currently in the hands of the Kansas City Chiefs, but the Denver Broncos are hoping to get back in the running. They will face each other on Monday Night Football in Week 8. The game will begin at 8:30 p.m. ET on ESPN (live streaming via WatchESPN).

Kansas City has at times looked completely unbeatable and at other times ... considerably less so. They are 5-2 on the season, with a 1-1 mark in the division. Unfortunately for them, both of their losses were in their last two games.

They fell to the rival Oakland Raiders, 31-30, in their last outing, and dropped one to the Pittsburgh Steelers, 19-13. If they can right the ship and beat the Broncos, their biggest competition in the division, they will be in a great position.

Alex Smith has completed 72.4 percent of his passes for 1,070 yards, 15 touchdowns and no interceptions while being sacked 21 times. Smith is having an incredible season, even if he doesn’t throw for as many yards as some other quarterbacks. The Chiefs have also looked good running the ball, with Kareem Hunt putting up 717 yards and four touchdowns on the ground.

One of the biggest issues for Kansas City, though, is the fact that they aren’t outpacing opponents significantly when it comes to yardage. The Chiefs have 1,979 passing yards while their opponents have 1,987 passing yards. On the ground, they’ve rushed for 903 yards, while their opponents have put up 872. They’ve been running some pretty narrow margins.

Denver has looked good at times, but have also lost their last two games. Both games weren’t close, with a particularly embarrassing 21-0 shutout at the hands of the surging Los Angeles Chargers in their last outing.

Crucially, the Broncos and Chiefs won’t meet again until Week 17. A lot can happen between now and then, but the teams seem fairly evenly-matched when it comes to talent, so things could easily come down to that game.

Below is all you need to know to watch the action on Monday as well as news, odds, predictions and more.
