Dolphins vs. Panthers live stream: How to watch ‘Monday Night Football’ online

For the third week in a row, the great football fans around the world have been forced to endure a prime-time game featuring the Miami Dolphins. This time kicking off on Monday, Jay Cutler and team will head north to Charlotte to take on the Carolina Panthers on Monday Night Football at 8:30 p.m. ET on ESPN (live stream).

The first half of the season has been a bit of a roller coaster for the Miami Dolphins, who first had to bring Cutler back from retirement, then saw him sidelined for two weeks by an injury. It became obvious why Miami brought back the veteran QB when his backup Matt Moore tried filling his shoes, resulting in a spectacular 41-0 loss to the Ravens in Week 9.

Dolphins head coach Adam Gase didn’t mince words after the shutout, blaming a lazy offense for the team’s struggles. Miami ended up trading running back Jay Ajayi to the Eagles in an attempt to make a statement to the rest of the offense. To be fair, the offense did rebound by scoring points. In last week’s Sunday night game, the Dolphins lost by a much smaller margin, falling to the Raiders 27-24 — and that was with Cutler back under center.

The Panthers made their own move ahead of the trade deadline, sending their top receiver, Kelvin Benjamin, to Buffalo. Despite this, Cam Newton — aka Superman — had a high-flying game that narrowly propelled Carolina to a 20-17 win over a conference foe, the Atlanta Falcons.

After a slow start to the year — aided by injuries throughout training camp and beyond — the Panthers are now 6-3 and ranked No. 2 in the NFC South. Benjamin’s snaps should transfer over to the younger talent on the Panthers’ roster like Devin Funchess and rookie Curtis Samuel.

For the first time this season, tight end Julius Thomas made his presence felt throughout the game. The former Portland State standout managed to catch the eye of the analyst team at Pro Football Focus. PFF awarded Thomas with a grade of 88.0 - the highest grade given to a Dolphins player on Sunday.

Yeah, a win’s a win, but the Panthers looked dreadful in spots and are frankly lucky they won. If not for a extremely egregious (and rare) drop by Julio Jones in the end zone, the Panthers would be lamenting another loss to the Dirty Birds instead of celebrating a win.

The Panthers find a way to get a win at home, with the Dolphins once again struggling to get anything going on offense. Cutler has a decent day through the air, but with stops on the ground and in the red zone, Gase and team head back to Miami once again re-evaluating their goals for the season.
