Titans vs. Steelers 2017: Start time, TV schedule for ‘Thursday Night Football’

Coming off a short week, the kickoff for Week 11 features two teams fighting for some respect.

The Pittsburgh Steelers squeaked out a win against the Colts last week, and the Tennessee Titans ended up crushing any hopes that the Bengals had for an upset. Now, kicking off the Week 11 slate of games, the Steelers and Titans will meet on Thursday Night Football at 8:25 p.m. ET on NFL Network and NBC (live stream).

Coming off a short week, neither team will have the benefit of extra time for their injured players, or a solid, high-intensity practice to right some wrongs ahead of the Thursday matchup.

Injuries haven’t been a problem for Pittsburgh much this season, but it did see two key players, Joe Haden (fractured fibula) and Mike Mitchell (ankle), sidelined last weekend against the Colts. It will be up to Robert Golden to step up in the secondary, especially if Mitchell is unable to return so quickly, but that shouldn’t be a problem for a veteran player with experience at both safety positions.

Against the Bengals, the Titans looked slowwwww, and their penchant for sticking to a four-minute offense kept them even with or behind the Bengals through much of the contest. Finally, Marcus Mariota and his team showed some urgency to come from behind and ultimately get the 24-20 win. If the Titans are looking for a road win in Week 11, they’ll need to create some tempo early and figure out how to sustain it for 60 minutes.

Time, TV channel, and streaming info

  • Time: 8:25 p.m. ET
  • Location: Heinz Field, Pittsburgh, Pa.
  • TV: NFL Network and NBC
  • Streaming: NBCSports.com
  • Odds: The Steelers opened as 7-point favorites.

Titans vs. Steelers news:

Pittsburgh struggled mightily on offense, was prone to giving up the big play on defense, and the special teams—namely Chris Boswell and the kicking game—left a lot to be desired.

And just like seven weeks earlier, the Steelers found themselves down by two scores in the second half, before crawling back into things, in part thanks to a clutch fourth quarter takeaway that led to the game-tying score.

Adoree Jackson and Logan Ryan are legit NFL corners. This is the first time the Titans have had a good secondary in a really long time.

Steelers fans hadn’t seen that Roethlisberger in a while. You know, the Roethlisberger who, when faced with this type of situation in a football game, was almost automatic. The Roethlisberger who was known for his clutch, late-game heroics. The Roethlisberger who emerged from the phone booth to lead the team to victory.

Titans vs. Steelers predictions:

Whether or not he retires at the end of the season, Roethlisberger is going to give everything he’s got to finishing the year off on a high note. Losing at home to the Titans is not in the cards — even for a team that almost lost to the Colts. Pittsburgh gets the win, but it isn’t exactly a pretty game for either team.
