The battle of second-year quarterbacks heats up in this Week 11 NFC East rivalry game.

This game really does have it all. Two franchises that bitterly dislike each other (as evidenced, here, here, and here) and two quarterbacks who — if you ask their respective fan bases — are each the next Tom Brady. Not to mention, the Cowboys are No. 2 in the NFC East, three games behind the Eagles at the top, and would love to give Doug Pederson’s team its second loss of the year.
Injuries (and legal issues) have been a factor for both teams this season, and both teams have had to enact the “next man up” mentality to push forward — the Eagles have just done a better job of it. Dallas is still trying to adjust to the loss of Ezekiel Elliott (who served just the first of his six-game suspension last week), and only managed 107 rushing yards as a team without him in their loss to the Falcons.
This is the first of two meetings for the NFC East rivals, the next of which will cap off the 2017 season on New Years Eve.

Eagles vs. Cowboys news:
- Philadelphia made a few roster moves this week, including signing OT Will Beatty, and LB Dannell Ellerbe to the team.
- Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee is akin to Tony Romo: so much potential, but unable to stay healthy from one season to the next.
Besides the third of the season he’s already missed, Lee is slated to miss the next few games as well. The Cowboys took off the training wheels, and now they’ve forgotten how to ride a bike. Their defense is predicated on Sean Lee operating it, and he can’t manage to stay on the field.
- The Eagles have been clicking on offense in part to their use and success with running the slot-fade.
The slot-fade, the way the Eagles run it, forces the outside corner to play the smoke route, giving the slot corner more area on the boundary for the quarterback to work with. The safety can be manipulated by the quarterback or a matchup to one side of the field of the other.
- Dallas’ front office hasn’t done the team any favors in terms of adding depth to the roster.
The coaches certainly made some errors along the way, both in preparation for the game and in not finding ways to adjust adequately. But in hindsight, it is clear that the coaching staff was hamstrung (pun intended) by the lack of the right personnel.
Eagles vs. Cowboys predictions:
Fresh off a bye week, the Eagles march into Dallas with laser-like focus. It’ll be a close game for a stretch thanks to the rivalry keeping emotions running high, but ultimately, the Eagles come out of the half with a vengeance and find a way to win by at least score on the road. All of our experts except one, Joel Thorman, agree, and chose the Eagles to win in their Week 11 picks.
