Giants vs. Washington live stream: How to watch Thursday night Thanksgiving football online
Two NFC East teams coming off overtime matchups will face off Thanksgiving night.
Things have not been great for the two division rivals thus far in 2017. The Giants are coming off their most impressive win of the season — albeit only its third of the year — but it came on their home field against a once burgeoning Kansas City team. Let’s not overreact to the 12-9 overtime win by New York, though, who still couldn’t manage to put together a complete offensive performance.
Despite a touchdown run in the second-quarter — with a missed point-after attempt — Giants quarterback Eli Manning didn’t throw for a single touchdown in Week 11 against the Chiefs. Saving the team from the woes on the offensive side of the ball, was the defense, who (even without corner Eli Apple) were able to snag three picks against Alex Smith.
Against Washington, the Giants’ defense will be a big part of any success New York hopes to have on Thanksgiving evening. Coming off a short week in which the Kirk Cousins-led team almost pulled off a win over a steamrolling New Orleans squad, the Washington offense will be tested, especially in their attempt to limit turnovers.
Against the Saints, Cousins and Co. found success with the run game, to the tune of 156 yards and a score — 23 carries for 117 yards a score were by way of Samaje Perine. Cousins also spread the ball around; four different wideouts claimed over 50 receiving yards, and the offense as a whole racking up 322 receiving yards on the day.
They might not be playing for the No. 1 spot in the NFC East division, but this is still a rivalry game, and one that could very well get chippy by night’s end.

Giants vs. Washington news:
- One of the reasons New York got the win last week was thanks to their rookie kicker not getting into his own head.
“Aldrick (Rosas) just kept kicking,” said head coach Ben McAdoo. “That first one that wasn’t pretty. We knew the wind was going to factor there. He just kept fighting. We knew there was going to be some adversity and Aldrick did a good job fighting through it.”
- Both Jay Gruden and Cousins spoke to the media earlier in the week, and that’s also when we learned Chris Thompson has a broken fibula and will need surgery, keeping him sidelined for the remainder of the 2017 season.
- New York’s head coach (for now) McAdoo spoke to the media after last week’s win and touted the defense and special teams.
“We played tremendous defense today. We were all over the field. We were flying around, running to the football. That was great to see. Special teams was big for us, again, I can’t say that enough.
- Washington’s defense was a bit under-whelming against the Saints, and the coordinator, Greg Manusky, is taking some heat for it.
Manusky’s defense allowed 375 passing yards, and 160 on the ground. The epic melt-down in the fourth quarter cost this team the game! By the way, Ryan Kerrigan should NEVER be in coverage when the game in on the line!
Giants vs. Washington predictions:
The Giants winning last week was filled with luck, but unfortunately for McAdoo and Co. that well will likely be dry against Washington. Despite a loss last week, Gruden and Cousins still have the Washington offense trending in the right direction, and are hardly likely to let a division rival best them at home. It’s a bit of an ugly 60 minutes, but Washington gets the win. Seven of our eight experts -- only Joel Thorman dissenting — agree that Washington will win in their Week 12 picks.
Things we’re thankful for this NFL season
