Another week, another dumpster fire for Ben McAdoo and the New York Giants, with McAdoo being fired on Monday. A week after benching tenured starter Eli Manning, the Giants will give him back the reins as the team moves forward with an interim head coach in Week 14 against NFC East division rival, the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET on FOX (live stream).

The Giants have cleaned house and are looking to just survive the last few games of the season.

It’s been an interesting season for the Giants, from CBs walking out on the team to McAdoo benching Manning. The chaos from within translated to the field, leaving the team with just two wins to its name this season. It wasn’t just McAdoo who was let go this week. General manager Jerry Reese was fired as well. The plan for the next four games is to have defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo take over as the interim head coach with Kevin Abrams filling in as the general manager.
Both teams fall short of leading the NFC East division (below the 10-2 Philadelphia Eagles), but the Cowboys still have a shot at the postseason while the Giants, well, don’t. Dallas struggled for a few weeks in a row at home but finally came up big against Washington in last week’s Thursday Night Football matchup.
Hoping to continue that win streak, running back Rod Smith has stepped up for the Cowboys following Ezekiel Elliott’s suspension, and there was finally a flash of the formerly menacing receiver Dez Bryant in last week’s game. Bryant has failed to continue his career campaign of dominance this season and has become a wideout better known for his pass breakup ability than for making sweet catches.

Cowboys vs. Giants news:
- Here’s everything you need to know about Ben McAdoo’s firing and the subsequent head coaching search that is already underway.
- The Cowboys are still in the postseason hunt, but that will mean they’ll have to face a team with a winning record.
The Cowboys have an even 6-6 record. At this moment, they haven’t beaten a team with a winning record. They have beat teams that had a winning record at the time of the game, like the Kansas City Chiefs, but as of today, none of the teams they have defeated has a winning record.
- Whether it’s coming from ownership or the new leaders of the team, it appears the starting QB job is back to Eli Manning.
At this point we don’t know who made the decision. It could have come from ownership, but offensive coordinator Mike Sullivan has a long history with Manning and likely wouldn’t have hesitated if the decision was left to him. Interim head coach Steve Spagnuolo also has a long history with Manning, and last week expressed his admiration for the QB.
Cowboys vs. Giants predictions:
The Cowboys find some motivation from their win over Washington last week and will knock another NFC East team down a peg this week against the Giants. With New York’s organization imploding, there’s little that can be done to save the 2017 season at this point.
Two of our experts think the Giants will win. The other six, as well as OddsShark’s computer, all went with the Cowboys in their Week 14 picks.
