The Philadelphia Eagles have spent the week on the West Coast after a tough loss to the Seahawks. Instead of making the long trek back to Philly, the team instead has been training at Angel Stadium in Ahaneim ahead of Sunday’s Week 14 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams at 4:25 p.m. ET on FOX (live stream of FuboTV).

The Eagles stayed on the West Coast this week to be ready for their matchup against the 9-3 Rams.

Before the Carson Wentz-Dak Prescott comparisons took over headlines in 2016, Wentz was often put head-to-head against Jared Goff — the West Coast QB who ended up going No. 1 (a single spot ahead of Wentz) in the 2016 NFL draft. These two QBs will finally get a chance to go against each other on the grid iron, which will certainly have people second-guessing a draft from two years ago. (Football is weird.)
Doug Pederson and Carson Wentz will need to get down to brass tacks after last weekend’s road loss, in a game which highlighted several deficiencies for an otherwise upward-trending team. From not going for it on fourth-and-1 (a departure from everything we know about Pederson’s play-calling) to not challenging a late-game lateral pass that was probably a forward pass, the Eagles’ head coach needs to get back to what was working for his team nine weeks in a row.
One of the biggest things the Eagles will need to focus on heading into Sunday’s matchup will be capitalizing on time in the red zone. Struggling to score within the 20 has seemingly always been an issue for Philadelphia but hasn’t been a problem thus far for the 2017 team — until last week.
The Rams on the other hand are in the midst of their best season in over a decade. Already sitting at 9-3, the team is preparing for a postseason run and to finally put all of the 7-9 memes and jokes to rest. One of their biggest tests to finish out the season will be on Sunday against the Eagles. Philadelphia fans travel well and could make the afternoon matchup seem like it’s being played on neutral grounds.

Eagles vs. Rams news:
- A couple of key players for Philadelphia could miss the matchup with the Rams on Sunday.
- Things are looking much brighter for the Rams during the Sean McVay era in Los Angeles, with the team headed for the postseason with a winning season.
With the 2017 season, the turd train is officially out of commission.
McVay and the new regime are here, and it appears that the Rams have reached the light at the end of the tunnel. This time last year, when it was announced that turd conductor Jeff Fisher was getting an extension, it seemed like the light would never come.
- Offensive woes were a big reason for the Eagles’ second loss of the season.
The quarterback and head coach are obvious candidates for blame after any loss. But this sentiment holds especially true for this loss. Wentz and Pederson simply weren’t on their A-game on Sunday night.
Wentz finished the game 29/45 (64.4 percent) for 348 yards, one touchdown, one interception, and an 86.2 passer rating.
Oh, and one game-changing fumble that wiped out a potential touchdown and instead set up the Seahawks to take a 17-3 lead. That was a brutal turnover by No. 11. Can’t lose the ball like that.
Eagles vs. Rams predictions:
While having all of your weaknesses spotlighted isn’t always that fun, it’s a good thing for the Eagles to have a chance to solidify all aspects of their game if they hope to make a long run in the playoffs. With little corrections to make over the past few weeks, last Sunday’s game gave the team more than enough things to adjust heading into Week 14. Staying on the West Coast helps the Eagles, and they get the win before heading home.
Our experts are split down the middle in their Week 14 picks, though. Four chose the Eagles, four took the Rams. OddsShark’s computer foresees the Rams winning to break the tie.
