The last three times the Philadelphia Eagles have started the season 10-1, they made their way to the postseason and, eventually, to the championship game. Carson Wentz — LeBron James’ new favorite athlete to watch — will be looking to continue that tradition as he and the team head west to battle the Seattle Seahawks in primetime on Sunday Night Football at 8:30 p.m. ET on NBC (live stream it on NBCSports.com).

Can a 10-1 Philadelphia team get a road win in (a very loud) Seattle?

This year’s Eagles team — who went bowling and did the ‘Electric Slide’ in Week 12 — looks similar to the Seahawks circa 2013-2014; seemingly gelling at all levels, from the locker room to the sideline, and playing with a type of brotherhood chemistry that doesn’t come around all that often. That same type of swagger and confidence has since been missing for Seattle, and with a limited run game and an injury list a mile long, the team sits on the outside of the playoff picture looking in.
Sitting at 7-4, the Seahawks are still vying for a spot in the playoffs, even if it comes by way of a wild card bid. Their win last week over the 49ers and the Rams getting a win over the Saints, helped set the tone for the rest of the Seahawks’ December campaign. Should the team find a resurgence to get them through the regular season, they could end up in the postseason for the sixth-consecutive year.

Eagles vs. Seahawks news:
- It’s not often the visiting team is favored to win in Seattle, but the Eagles have been on a hot streak that’s hard to ignore.
- Seahawks tight end Jimmy Graham has become the red-zone target the team needed.
The touchdown reception by Graham put him at eight touchdown catches on the season, with three quarters of those touchdowns coming on receptions of less than five yards. In fact, of the eight touchdowns that Graham has caught this season, only one came on a reception longer than six yards.
- This year’s Philadelphia team seems to be firing on all cylinders and there’s few opportunities left to spoil that before the end of the regular season.
A few tests over the final five weeks of the 2017 season remain, none more important than the next two weeks. Philadelphia has road games against the Seahawks and Rams looming, two teams with good but not great passing offenses. If Russell Wilson and Jared Goff can touch up the Eagles secondary, it’ll plant a seed of doubt that could blossom in the postseason. If they can’t, then the NFC’s road to the Super Bowl will run through Philadelphia.
- Consistency hasn’t exactly been a strong suit of Russell Wilson and the Seahawks offense this season, but the QB usually finds a way to close.
After a mostly erratic first 30 minutes from No. 3, Wilson was sharp, composed, and in rhythm in the final two quarters. He completed 12 of 15 passes, threw two touchdowns, and had some timely third-down conversions to Doug Baldwin and Jimmy Graham in the third quarter. As mentioned regarding the O-line, Wilson had some unreal escapes from pressure in the pocket, and we even saw some “vintage Russ” when he kept on a bootleg for 11 yards.
Eagles vs. Seahawks predictions:
Despite boasting one of the toughest stadiums for visiting teams, the Seattle Seahawks dip in the NFC rankings with a loss to the East Division Philadelphia Eagles. With momentum that hasn’t been seen from the organization since Michael Vick had DeSean Jackson and LeSean McCoy downfield, Carson Wentz will prove able to take his team to the promise land — but first, they get the win in Seattle.
Our eight experts are split right down the line in their Week 13 picks, however, though OddsShark’s computer picked Philly to keep winning.
