Lady Gaga’s performance of the national anthem at Super Bowl 50 was one of the best ever.
Super Bowl national anthem: Relive Lady Gaga’s 2016 performance
It was one of the greatest national anthem performances of all time.

The superstar pop singer moved many with her rendition, including Broncos defensive coordinator Wade Phillips, who tweeted about Gaga’s performance right after winning the game.
Gaga’s performance was so good, in fact, that it even drew comparisons to Whitney Houston’s rendition from Super Bowl XXV.
”It was really amazing,” Gaga said in an exclusive interview with Extra, following the Super Bowl. “The athletes were just kind of majestic standing up there, singing for the fans in the stands and all over the world, it was so cool.”
The pop star constantly reiterated how honored she was to sing the anthem in that same interview:
“It’s kind of ancient history stuff, in the Greek and Roman history, performing for the greatest athletics in the world is the highest honor. I’m Italian and European, so for me it was such an honor as an American.”
Fortunately, fans will also have the honor of hearing Gaga sing again, but this time during the halftime performance of Super Bowl 51. Although mum’s the word on whether there will be any special guests, we do know Gaga will be joined by Tony Bennett in a brief video. We also predicted which songs she’ll sing right here, if you’re curious.
Following in Gaga’s footsteps, country singer Luke Bryan will sing the national anthem before kickoff of Super Bowl LI. He’ll be the first male vocalist to perform the national anthem at a Super Bowl since Billy Joel did so a decade ago.
