Before things get too serious for the Philadelphia Eagles and New England Patriots, the teams will be available to the media and fans for one of the more light-hearted events to open a week-long celebration leading up to Super Bowl 52. Super Bowl Opening Night can be watched live on NFL Network and ESPN2 Monday (live stream at FuboTV and WatchESPN), beginning with the Patriots at 8:10 p.m. ET and the Eagles taking the stage at 10 p.m. ET.

The event will be held at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul. For fans attending, the night will include team cheerleaders, team mascots, a free Super Bowl gift bag and radio — which can be used to hear the individual player interviews from various podiums — along with appearances by some Vikings legends. They will also get to see players and coaches talk to fans and thousands of media members.

From politics to a favorite cartoon, nothing is off limits in this rare interview opportunity. This hasn’t been known to be the type of event to get serious insight into Tom Brady’s bandaged thumb or how Nick Foles finally connected with Alshon Jeffery and Torrey Smith with deep passes in the NFC Championship. Instead, expect some questions about what they eat, current events, and the occasional question asked by a puppet. (Seriously.)

Last year’s event included a myriad wild outfits, football players and fans clamoring for a photo-op with Olympian Simone Biles, and one interviewer (sent by Jimmy Kimmel) who asked questions using a turkey leg instead of a microphone. So yes, anything goes during the opening night of a week filled with Super Bowl-related activities — and it makes for some really entertaining viewing.
