Super Bowl 52 will feature a rematch 13 years in the making, when the Philadelphia Eagles try to enact revenge against Tom Brady and the New England Patriots, at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. ET on NBC (live stream at NBC Sports).
2018 Super Bowl: What time is kickoff?
Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. ET, but it might be a little later than that.
Kickoff might get pushed back just a little, with Leslie Odom Jr. singing “America the Beautiful” and Pink performing the national anthem before the festivities get going. The NFL is also saluting 15 Medal of Honor recipients during the coin toss, which could move kickoff back to about 6:40-6:45 p.m. ET.
The Philadelphia Eagles led the league for most of the year in wins and quarterback success, but with a season-ending injury keeping Carson Wentz out of the playoffs, the team has instead put its hopes in Nick Foles. Coming off arguably the biggest game of his career, Foles shined in the NFC championship game against the Vikings, racking up 357 passing yards and three touchdowns — including two off beautiful deep passes to Alshon Jeffery and Torrey Smith.
On the other sideline, you’ve got Tom Brady, who is obviously no stranger to playing in a Super Bowl. The Patriots might have experience on their side, but they’ve had to overcome some significant injuries as well and are hoping to return tight end Rob Gronkowski -- who is still in concussion protocol — to the lineup before kickoff. Even without him, the Pats boast a rushing duo that is hard to stop and a mastermind head coach who is sure to throw in more than few surprises come game time.
