The Rams offense seems unstoppable, and their linemen deserve some credit

Retired NFL lineman Geoff Schwartz is back with his blocks of the week.

Disrespectful blocks of the week for Week 3 of the NFL is here and it’s wonderful as usual. We get to see offensive lineman using their legs to get out in space and destroy some little defenders, which is always fun to see.

Those little defenders hate when we come after them and we see why with Rodger Saffold tossing them aside. Look how Saffold gets out on the screen and pushes his man back. Running back Todd Gurley is off the races and nearly to the end zone on that play.

But the best part of Saffold’s block is his celebration. After making an outstanding block like that, springing the back to a long gain, you should be so pumped, and he is. The Rams, by the way, are freaking rolling. They are fun to watch and their offense seems to be unstoppable.

The Lions drafted Frank Ragnow in the first round and expected big things from the former Razorbacks center. They moved him to left guard where he’s had some issues, but not on Sunday night.

Ragnow balled out, including this play when he drives and drives and drives and drives the defensive tackle 10 yards down the field and dumps him over the pile. Look at the way he uses his hands, hips and feet together, and then he comes back and resets his hands while he’s driving his man. This kid is going to be good.

Now to San Francisco with right tackle Mike McGlinchey, who had another amazing block. Watch him get out in space here on this toss play. He gets the defender and drives him and then throws him off the field while the play goes by. Talk about playing through the whistle!

Finally this week, Broncos center Matt Paradis with a sweet drive block. He pushes the defensive lineman down the field and sends him head over heels.

Please let me know what your favorite block is this week, and as always, you can submit blocks during the week to my Twitter, @geoffschwartz.
