The past couple years have see growing talk that New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski will retire sooner rather than later. Last year you were able to bet on whether Gronk would retire after the game, and the prop bet is back for Super Bowl 53.
Why you should bet NO on the Rob Gronkowski retirement prop bet
He might retire later in the offseason, but one prop bet requires a more immediate decision.

Bovada is offering odds on whether Gronk will retire after the game, with the requirement that, “The retirement announcement must appear on the broadcast following the game.” Gronk is likely to take some time deciding, which makes it no surprise that the odds for him not announcing his retirement in the immediate aftermath of the game a heavy favorite. Odds he will not retire right after the game are at -1000 (bet $1000 to win $100), while odds he will retire right after the game are +550 (bet $100 to win $550).
At Super Bowl 53 Opening Night, Gronk was asked about retirement. He said at that point it’s, “one of the last things I’m thinking about.” He said the retirement question is a tricky one in part because he has not, “done that sit-down yet. I gotta do that sit-down. About two weeks after.”
It is entirely possible if the Patriots win, Gronk immediately retires amidst the emotion of the victory. However, given that comment, your best bet is going to be would be taking the NO on him announcing his retirement in the immediate aftermath of the game. He very well might decide to hang it up later in the offseason, but for betting purposes, it almost assuredly won’t happen right after the game.
