The Dallas Police Department has issued an arrest warrant for Buffalo Bills pass rusher Von Miller, according to reporting from TMZ and other media outlets. As reported by TMZ, a spokesperson for the DPD, “the warrant stems from an incident involving Miller and a woman on Nov. 29 at around 11 AM.”

Initial reports indicate that Dallas police responded to “a major disturbance call,” and that there was a physical altercation between Miller and a pregnant woman.

According to Dallas-area outlet WFAA:

“[o]fficers learned that Miller and the alleged victim were in an argument when Miller allegedly assaulted her, police said. Multiple police sources told WFAA that the alleged victim is Miller’s longtime girlfriend.

“Police said Miller left the scene before officers arrived. The alleged victim was not taken to a hospital but was treated for minor injuries at the scene, police said.”

As noted by WFAA, “a charge of assaulting a pregnant person is a third-degree felony in Texas.”

In response, the Bills released a short statement:

Miller has faced criminal allegations in his past. During the winter of 2021 he was under investigation in the Denver area by the Parker (Colorado) Police Department. However, the 18th Judicial District, the district attorney’s office for the city, declined to move forward with charges against Miller. Details surrounding the investigation were not disclosed by authorities, and Miller remained on the Broncos.

Then in 2022 Miller was the subject of a civil lawsuit, wherein it was alleged that he distributed sexually explicit images of a woman he once dated. That lawsuit was subsequently dismissed.

Update: According to new reporting from WFAA Thursday night, the alleged victim is downplaying the incident, and told reporters via text that no assault took place:

“We’re fine,” she wrote. “Things were blown way out of context. This is actually outrageous!”

She called the incident “a huge misunderstanding” and described it as “a verbal disagreement.”

“No one assaulted anyone,” she texted. “This is insane. And sad.”

Earlier in the day, Miller turned himself in to face a charge of third-degree felony assault of a pregnant woman, which is punishable by 2 to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
