NFL free agency officially kicks off on Wednesday, March 15 at 4 p.m. ET, which coincides with the start of the 2023 league year. But rumors and news will start flying on the previous Monday, when the NFL’s “legal tampering” period begins.

    2023 NFL Draft: Full draft order with compensatory selections after Aaron Rodgers trade

    The full order for the 2023 NFL draft is now set.

    This week the NFL awarded compensatory selections for the 2023 NFL Draft to 16 different teams. In total, 37 compensatory picks were awarded. Compensatory picks are awarded to teams that lost key free agents during the previous offseason. Those picks are awarded “based on salary, playing time, and postseason honors” according to the league.

    While in Indianapolis for the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine, I had a wonderful conversation with Maddy Glab, one of the team reporters for the Buffalo Bills. During our chat we talked about how the NFL does a tremendous job at keeping fans interested throughout the year.

    Free agency is a prime example. Over the next few weeks we will have countless players moving teams, and fans of all 32 teams talking themselves into the idea that the moves their favorite team made will put them over the top next season.

    We are closing in on some of the first major events of the 2023 NFL offseason. The Scouting Combine is drawing to a close, but things will really begin to pick up over the next few days, with the franchise tag window about to close, and the legal tampering period about to begin.

    As we have discussed already this offseason, there is a potential for unprecedented quarterback movement in the weeks ahead. We might see playoff quarterbacks, Super Bowl quarterbacks, even a former NFL MVP finding new homes over the days to come.
