Roster cutdowns.

Over the next few days all 32 teams will face the challenge of trimming their rosters from 90 players down to 53, ahead of Tuesday’s 4 p.m. deadline (Eastern). With some teams having played their final preseason games over Thursday and Friday night, some of the roster cuts are starting to trickle in.

We will be tracking all the roster moves over the next few days, so be sure to come back early and often as your favorite teams finalize their rosters ahead of the NFL season.

Tuesday, August 29

Cleveland Browns: The Browns are down to their initial 53 man roster. Players waived on Tuesday include: CB Lorenzo Burns, WR Jaelon Darden, RB/WR Demetric Felton Jr., RB Hassan Hall, WR Mike Harley Jr., DE Sam Kamara, DE Jeremiah Martin, S Tanner McCalister, TE Zaire Mitchell-Paden, QB Kellen Mond, DE Lonnie Phelps, LB Charlie Thomas III, DE Isaiah Thomas, and DT Tommy Togiai.

Carolina Panthers: The Panthers are cutting DE Raequan Williams, per Rapoport. They are also releasing veteran LB Dein Jones, per Schefter.

Indianapolis Colts: The Colts are waiving WR D.J. Montgomery, per Pelissero. Pelissero also believes the team hopes he will clear waivers so they can sign him to the practice squad. Indianapolis also waived safety Ronnie Harrison.

Buffalo Bills: The Bills released a pair of safeties on Tuesday: Dean Marlowe and Zayne Anderson, who was a standout on special teams.

New York Giants: The Giants are waiving WRs Jacob Harris and Kalil Pimpleton, per Pelissero. They are also releasing veteran WR Jamison Crowder, per Mike Garafolo.

Cincinnati Bengals: The Bengals are releasing CB Allan George, per Rapoport.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: The Buccaneers are waiving WR Kade Warner, per Pelissero.

Washington Commanders: Washington is releasing QB Jake Fromm.

Atlanta Falcons: Atlanta is waiving FB Clink Ratkovich.

Monday, August 28

Washington Commanders: Release WR Marcus Kemp, per Rapoport.

Sunday, August 27

Minnesota Vikings: Minnesota released linebacker Tanner Vallejo, per Pelissero.

New England Patriots: The Patriots waived defensive lineman Carl Davis, per Pelissero.

Las Vegas Raiders: Las Vegas waived running back Darwin Thompson and quarterback Chase Garbers, per Pelissero.

Denver Broncos: The Broncos waived wide receiver Kendall Hinton, per Pelissero.

New York Jets: New York waived linebacker Nick Vigil, per Pelissero.

New York Giants: According to Ian Rapoport, the Giants have released veteran running back James Robinson and wide receiver Jaydon Mickens. The team also announced that defensive tackle Kevin Atkins, defensive back Darren Evans, nose tackle Donovan Jeter, and wide receiver Collin Johnson were waived. Defensive linemen Tashawn Bower and Brandin Bryant, and offensive tackles Korey Cunningham and Julien Davenport, had their contracts terminated.

Saturday, August 26

Some of the first moves came on Saturday, with a handful of teams having completed their preseason schedules.

Carolina Panthers: The Panthers played their final preseason game on Friday night, and waived 11 players on Saturday. The 11 players cut by the Panthers are: Quarterback Jake Luton, running back Camerun Peoples, wide receivers Gary Jennings and CJ Saunders, offensive tackle Larnel Coleman, defensive lineman Antwuan Jackson, linebacker Bumper Pool, safeties Collin Duncan and Josh Thomas, cornerback Rejzohn Wright, and kicker Matthew Wright.

Philadelphia Eagles: The Eagles have cut two players, tight ends Tyree Jackson and Dan Arnold, per Tom Pelissero. Philadelphia also cut backup quarterback Ian Book, per Ian Rapoport.

Atlanta Falcons: The Falcons announced the release of four players: Cornerback Bless Austin, offensive lineman Jalen Mayfield, and defensive linemen Delontae Scott and Justin Ellis. Mayfield was the team’s third-round selection in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Pittsburgh Steelers: Pittsburgh released eight players on Saturday. The eight players released were wide receiver Dan Chisena, defensive back Nevelle Clarke, linebacker Kuony Deng, cornerback Madre Harper, defensive lineman James Nyamwaya, kicker B.T. Potter, linebacker Forrest Rhyne, and long snapper Rex Sunahara.
