The 2024 NFL Trade Deadline falls on election day, November 5th — but deals are already being made to improve rosters for contending teams, while simultaneously showing us which organizations are ready to punt on the season and rebuild.

This is the last best chance for teams to improve their rosters for playoff runs. The biggest position of need around the league is wide receiver, with lacking depth and injury causing a void where a large swath of teams with Super Bowl potential is in need of help at WR. That makes it a position to watch as we draw closer to November 5th.

Here is a full list of every trade that’s taken place ahead of the NFL deadline.

Preston Smith traded to Pittsburgh Steelers

Steelers receive: OLB Preston Smith
Packers receive: 7th round pick (2025)

The Steelers are not done making moves, adding veteran pass rusher Preston Smith in a trade with the Green Bay Packers. Smith last notched double-digit sacks back in 2019, but has 2.5 sacks this season.

Mike Williams traded to Pittsburgh Steelers

Steelers receive: WR Mike Williams
Jets receive: 5th round pick (2025)

The Steelers have been looking to add a wide receiver in recent weeks as they look to bolster their passing game for the stretch run. With New York acquiring Davante Adams in a previous trade with the Las Vegas Raiders, Mike Williams became the odd receiver out in that WR room, and a solid option for Pittsburgh ahead of the deadline.

Marshon Lattimore traded to Washington Commanders

Commanders receive: CB Marshon Lattimore
Saints receive: 3rd round pick (2025), 4th round pick (2025), 6th round pick (2025)

The Commanders land a major piece for their playoff push, while the Saints get to begin their slow, but much-needed rebuild. New Orleans won’t see the benefit of this deal until 2026, but it’s a critical move to fix their salary cap hell.

Jonathan Mingo traded to Dallas Cowboys

Cowboys receive: WR Jonathan Mingo, 7th round pick (2025)
Panthers receive: 4th round pick (2025)

Khalil Herbert traded to Cincinnati Bengals

Bengals receive: RB Khalil Herbert
Bears receive: 7th round pick (2025)

The Cincinnati Bengals are hoping to turn things around after a difficult 0-3 start, and face a critical game this Thursday night against the Baltimore Ravens. Now, some help is on the way in the form of running back Khalil Herbert. With running back Zack Moss dealing with a neck injury, the Bengals add Herbert to help bolster their running back room.

Za’Darius Smith traded to Detroit Lions

Lions receive: DE Za’Darius Smith, 7th round pick (2026)
Browns receive: 5th round pick (2025), 6th round pick (2026)

Once the Lions lost Aidan Hutchinson with a broken tibia and fibula in a Week 6 win over the Dallas Cowboys, a move for a pass rusher was largely expected to follow. Detroit made that move on Deadline Day, adding Smith from the Browns. In addition to his five sacks this season, Smith has 27 quarterback pressures according to charting data from Pro Football Focus.

Ernest Jones IV traded to Seahawks, Jerome Baker traded to Titans

Seahawks receive: LB Ernest Jones IV
Titans receive: LB Jerome Baker, 4th round pick (2025)

This is a bit of an odd trade on the surface, because these players appear to be a lot alike — but Jones IV is a much better linebacker, younger, and could blossom on the Seahawks. Meanwhile it allows the Titans to have more pieces for a rebuild, which is coming right around the corner.

DeAndre Hopkins traded to Kansas City Chiefs

Chiefs receive: WR DeAndre Hopkins
Titans receive: 5rd round pick (2025) — Can improve to a 4th if conditions are met

Kansas City finally gets help at WR after injuries to Rashee Rice and Hollywood Brown caused their offense to take a step back. The undefeated Chiefs have been relying on the passing efficiency of Patrick Mahomes to carry them, but there’s no question more help was needed. The Titans punt on their season, while Kansas City aims to solidify themselves for a Super Bowl run.

Cam Akers traded to Minnesota Vikings

Vikings receive: RB Cam Akers
Texans receive: Conditional 6th round pick (2025)

Minnesota are far more competitive than anyone gave them credit for before the season began, and this is a move to solidify their depth at running back. Aaron Jones has been fantastic for the Vikings, but the depth beyond that is iffy with Ty Chandler. Akers is a depth back who didn’t have a place in Houston.

Amari Cooper traded to Buffalo Bills

Bills receive: WR Amari Cooper, 6th round pick (2025)
Browns receiver: 3rd round pick (2025), 7th round pick (2026)

Cooper has largely been struggling in Cleveland this year, but the abominable play of Deshaun Watson has been a big factor in that. Now he gets a serious glow up to playing with Josh Allen on a team that could contend for the Super Bowl.

Davante Adams traded to New York Jets

Jets receive: WR Davante Adams
Raiders receive: 3rd round pick (2025) — Will improve to a 2nd round pick if Adams is named to an All-Pro team, or if Jets reach the AFC Championship game.

Aaron Rodgers gets his favorite target back on a Jets team that has boasted a stellar defense in 2024, but a horrific offense that simply can’t score. The hope is that Adams is the piece that allows more big plays, getting New York back on the right side of the ledger for a playoff push.

Roy Robertson-Harris traded to Seattle Seahawks

Seahawks receive: DT Roy Robertson-Harris
Jaguars receive: 6th round pick (2025)

Robertson-Harris became an odd fit in the Jaguars 4-3 defense, making the veteran defensive tackle expendable. Now he’ll fit in as a 5-technique DT on the Seahawks in a much better fit to seal the edge. The idea for Seattle is that the NFC West is wide open, which could lead to a playoff berth with a better line.
